Returning Your Mail Ballot? USPS Postmark Rules have Changed!

Previously, mail was postmarked the day you dropped it in the mailbox. Not any more: mail is now postmarked the day it is processed at the post office, sometimes days later. Make your vote count and don’t risk a late postmark.

Go to the post office counter and request a hand-stamped postmark, or drop your mail ballot at any of the 55 secure drop box locations throughout suburban Cook County.

Save the date, but don’t sit back and wait. A few things you can do right now: call your senators and demand they rein in ICE; join the next Eyes on ICE training, or recruit two friends if you have already done it; donate to a mutual aid group in your area; and join a local Indivisible group or another local organizing hub.
