Candidate Kristen Gillibrand

On March 17, 2019, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (52) officially launched her candidacy for the Democratic nomination. Kirsten Gillibrand graduated from Dartmouth College and UCLA School of Law. She was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006 and elected as Senator in 2010 both from her home state of New York. She has been outspoken on sexual assault in the military and sexual harassment, having criticized President Bill Clinton and Senator Al Franken (both fellow Democrats) for sexual misconduct. She supports paid family leave, a federal jobs guarantee, and the abolition and replacement of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
