The Jan Schakowsky Campaign Organizer School created by the Democratic Party of Evanston was launched with the goal of bringing some of the brightest stars in Illinois Politics and grassroots campaigning into Evanston to teach young progressive Democrats on aspects of organizing successful political campaigns. Our graduates will leave with a level of knowledge that will enable them to teach and mobilize volunteers with confidence and make an impact at any campaign from day one. With no additional training required.
How does The Schakowsky Campaign Organizer School work?
Students will learn the science of campaigning, how to use the Democratic party’s recommended technology stack, How to canvass, how to run phone banks, how to run events and how to recruit and manage volunteers. The Schakowsky Campaign Organizer School, offered by the Democratic Party of Evanston has created a curriculum designed to take decades of personal political experience and distill it into a 12 hours of training over a little more than a week.
What is the goal of The Schakowsky Campaign Organizer School?
Graduate trainers will assume entry level organizing roles in 2020 campaigns (either as a volunteer or a paid basis). Time is a luxury our candidates can’t afford. Progressives like you will bring the much needed organizing skills to a campaign in the important early growth moments.
Why is The Schakowsky Campaign Organizer School Important?
If we are going to fight the dark money special interest groups, we need to have the best talent in the field. Trump, the GOP and their dark money financiers will out-fund us, there is no question about that. So we need to out-smart them. Training organizers and deploying resources to help our purple state neighbors is the only chance we have.
